These types of shots are common in feature announcements on social media posts to Twitter and LinkedIn, and makes slides for presentations look much better.

How to capture browser windows without a background

On MacOS, there's a shortcut to take a screenshot of windows or menus without a background. It's useful if you need to grab a clean screenshot of Chrome or another browser presenting your app.

CMD + Shift + 4, then press Spacebar. This will trigger your cursor to change to a camera icon. Click on the window or menu you want captured, and a screenshot will be saved to your desktop.

Each PNG file keeps the window's drop shadow and transparency automatically. The unedited results will look something like this:
