How to add or edit existing narrations to a recording

In Rally, the narration system allows you to swap the presenter of a video while leaving the same presentation in place. This makes updates simpler, because you can reuse the same content, but with a new voiceover.

FYI: A story has both a narration and a content track. The content is the presentation, the narrator is the person guiding the viewer through this content. Think of them like your tour guide for the content.

Adding a narration

When editing a story, click Add Narration in the control bar to start recording a new narration track. If you have an existing recording ready to go, you can also upload it directly from here instead.

The recording screen will open automatically. You can adjust layout, audio, and video inputs before starting to record.

As you move between cards, we will automatically split up your narration for each. You can always swap the active track for a card later if you decide you didn't like your latest take.

We'll automatically name the narration track based on the person recording it. You can rename it via Narrator > Rename in the editor sidebar.

Your video can have multiple narrators

Multiple teammates can present the same content, without redoing the recording. This gives you the power to adjust things depending on the audience. You can use this flexibility to share expert advice from customer success, sales engineers, or technical account teams. Or just try a new way of explaining your product demo.

You can change narration for each card in your story without affecting the others.

Changing the video narrator

When a card already has a narration track, you will have the option to select it or record a new one via the Editor's control bar. Cards without narration will still appear in the video, just silently.
